Research

Research projects in the practice are led by Dr Gaw and Dr Joshi. The Practice is part of the new National Institute for Health and Research. This is a clinical research network. We take part in various research projects within the Thames Valley and South Midlands area. We do not usually take part in drug trials or private studies although we would consider them if they were to benefit our patients.

We will often use our computer records to identify patients who may be suitable participants in a particular research project. We may write to you asking if you wish to take part in a research project. However we do not supply any information about any of our patients without their specific consent.

We believe in supporting research that will improve patient care and hope that you will consider taking part in a study if is offered to you. Have a look at the NIHR website to read more about participating in research.

E.MBRACE

Did you know that E. coli is the most common cause of urinary tract infection (UTI) and bloodstream infection in older adults? If you’re 60 years of age or older and have had a UTI in the past two years, this clinical study may be of interest to you.
